Marriage Certificate for Zimbabweans in Australia
The Embassy in Canberra will need to know the following about the marriage which has taken place in Australia. After this they will be able to issue a marriage certificate. Note that there is a difference in the types of marriages. The following is the basics:
- Names of the married people
- Date of Marriage
- Chapter type of Marriage
If you got married in a court in Australia:
- Passports of bride and groom; and
- Divorce decree if divorced;
- Death certificate if widowed
If you got married in a chapel or church:
- Marriage licence issued by court; and
- No marriage certificate (or Certificate of Non-Impediment)
Birth registration:
If you have a child born in Australia or in New Zealand then you will need to complete a form which details the following information. This form will then have to be sent to Zimbabwe for a birth registration abroad.
- Child’s Australian or New Zealand Birth Certificate
- Mother’s Zimbabwean ID, Birth Certificate and Passport
- Father’s Zimbabwean ID, Birth Certificate and Passport
- Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
- Payment of AUD50.00 Bank Draft or Cash
- Self addressed registered envelope for the safe return of your documents.
